When you add an exercise or edit a set, FitLog Pro starts from the most reliable signal available: exercise history first, then your strength profile, then a conservative estimate when data are still limited.
The suggestion is a reasoned starting point, not a command: always check technique, range of motion, real equipment, and how the day feels before confirming.
Not every exercise should be logged as standard reps. Time, distance, and other special cases are easier to understand if you pick the correct counting mode early.
If a variation shows up often, keep its counting style consistent. It helps both in the live workout and when reading the data later.
TUT means time under tension: it describes how many seconds one rep lasts across the lowering, pause, lifting, and final pause phases.
After setting TUT, tap the metronome in the exercise header: it starts from the first incomplete set and stays associated with that exercise. Tap it again to stop. FitLog Pro can also show a one-time reminder about how it works.
When a template or mesocycle prescribes a target RPE, FitLog Pro uses it as the reference and compares the completed set against the real RPE you log.
If the set is harder or easier than planned, the app can show an `Apply` toast: tapping it updates suggested weight for upcoming sets and, when you overshoot the target, increases the planned rest too.
Set the general RPE range in the app from Customize workout > Advanced Tracking > General RPE range. The default remains 7-9.
If weight or timer control is enabled on a template without target RPE and you have not chosen a general range yet, FitLog Pro shows a light bottom sheet during the workout: use 7-9 immediately or set Min/Max with sliders.
Fill the fields you will actually use for the next decision.
Stay consistent in how you log the same exercise from one session to the next.
If you use RPE, use it consistently at least on the lifts that matter most.
Add extra detail only if you know you will read it again in History or Stats.
If the answer is not here, contact support with device, platform, a clear problem description, and ideally a screenshot.
Your feedback helps us improve guides for all users.
Useful follow-up reads that complete the same flow without sending you into internal documentation.
When part of the routine is not relevant that day, you can skip it without blocking the next exercise and without polluting history or analytics.
Advanced techniques are real parts of the product, but they help most when they improve the workout instead of simply making the log harder to read.
Default rest time, final timer sound, water reminders, Live Activities, and Apple Health or Health Connect integration.
