From the `Today nutrition` card, tap `Quick panel` to enable the native surface. After activation, the button disappears from Home so the diary stays clean.
To turn it off or back on, open `Integrations` > `Home nutrition` and use the `Lock Screen quick panel` toggle on iOS or `Nutrition quick widget` on Android.
Once nutrition is active, manage the quick panel, satiety check-ins, notifications, and food localization from `Settings` > `Nutrition` without going back to Integrations.
The first time, FitLog Pro shows a short info dialog with a `Do not show again` option; when the toggle stays on, the panel is republished when you open the app or nutrition data changes.
On iPhone, FitLog Pro starts a Live Activity with circular tiles for water, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. On Apple Watch, in the Smart Stack, the same Live Activity becomes a compact card with kcal completion, kcal consumed/target, and a water button.
Read macros and the diary without waiting
In the top summary, below calories, meals, and water, you always see protein (`P`), carbs (`C`), and fat (`F`) consumed today.
Each meal card shows calories, P/C/F, foods, and the logged time when available; the compact `+` button opens quick entry already set to that meal.
P/C/F describes what you logged: these values are not rigid quotas that must be reached in every individual meal.
The diary remains saved and synced through the FitLog Pro backend. FitLog Pro keeps a complete cache for the recent week and full snapshots for recently opened or corrected historical days, so later openings can show foods immediately while the network refreshes data in the background.
For the calendar history, FitLog Pro also keeps a lightweight local kcal index: the day ring is green when intake is within about +/-100 kcal of target, yellow when it is more than 100 kcal under, and red when it is more than 100 kcal over.
Nutritionist notes on meals
If you have connected a coach or nutritionist with nutrition permission, they can comment on a specific meal from the coach dashboard.
When the comment is sent, FitLog Pro saves the note under that same diary meal and queues the push notification.
The coach dashboard shows the queue status: delivery is processed by the notification worker, usually within the next roughly 5-minute cycle.
Open the `Today` detail view: below the meal foods, you will see `Nutritionist note` with the received message, without expanding the card.
Notes stay linked to the commented date and meal, so you can read them again after dismissing the notification.
Enable or turn it back on
During onboarding, FitLog Pro enables in-app Nutrition so energy, macros, water, and quick meals are available without leaving Home.
If you choose `Not now`, Home shows a compact card so you can enable it when you need it.
The main switch stays in `Integrations` > `Nutrition`: `Settings` > `Nutrition` only contains operational preferences after nutrition is active.
Add a food
Search remains the primary path with the full-width `Search foods, meals, and recipes` field: as you type, FitLog Pro immediately shows recent, personal, and generic foods already on the device, then automatically adds TiNutro and Open Food Facts products found by name or brand. You do not need a barcode or a separate `Search` action.
The generic catalog distinguishes raw, cooked, and ready-to-eat foods and recognizes common aliases such as `eggs`, `plain pasta`, `raw pasta`, `plain rice`, and `raw rice`.
FitLog Pro shows the most useful personal, recent, and generic matches first, followed by packaged products found in online catalogs. Barcode remains a precise shortcut, not the only way to find a branded product.
Results are split into `Yours and recent`, `Common foods`, `Branded products`, and `Verified community`. Each compact row shows brand or serving, provenance with a restrained visual accent, and four aligned metrics for comparing kcal, protein, carbs, and fat.
Shared catalog and personal copies
Foods and recipes stay private by default. Only items you explicitly share can enter the public catalog, without exposing the author identity.
Your copy always keeps the values you chose. Global revisions refresh only normal catalog copies; personal overrides and diary history are never rewritten.
A global correction is consolidated only when two distinct users submit compatible values against the same revision. Each corrector can still use their own values immediately.
You can remove a personal override to return to the global version. Deleting a local copy does not remove the shared catalog item.
During a moderation suspension, new foods remain personal and usable, and are not queued for later publication.
Create a composite food
When a meal has at least two foods that are not already composite, use `Create` > `Recipe from meal` directly from quick entry. The same function remains available as a compact `Turn into personal food` CTA inside the meal card.
Recipe Craft shows consistently sized ingredients, the final result, editable grams, and live macros. You can also remove foods while keeping at least two.
With `Save and replace`, FitLog creates a recipe with portion `1 serving`, retains each ingredient, and replaces the original diary ingredients with one row.
The recipe appears from the `Personal recipes` icon and is saved in Hive. Sharing it in the FitLog catalog requires an explicit choice.
Tap a recipe to open `Customize recipe`: change each ingredient grams, immediately see total grams, kcal, protein, carbs, and fat, then add the ingredients to the diary as separate snapshots. The saved recipe is not modified.
Quality, impact, and micronutrients
The Home card shows a visual preview of quality, impact, and processing when the diary has Open Food Facts data or available micronutrients.
Below the `Add meal` and `💧 Water` actions, tap `Micronutrients` to open the complete summary of today logged fiber, sugars, minerals, and vitamins.
In `Today`, `Daily quality` starts compact and always shows supplement completion, for example `Supplements 0/3`; expand it to see `Tracked foods`, Nutri-Score, environmental impact/Green-Score, and NOVA when available.
Nutrition medals in the Badge case reward strong signals and turn weaker Nutri-Score, impact, and NOVA days into light micro-goals without shaming the diary.
When today diary is empty, FitLog Pro can show an AI/Unlimited CTA to analyze the nutrition process and receive focused advice.
`Supplements` reads personal reminders that target integrations or look like supplement reminders, shows whether they were completed, and shows the time `Done` was pressed.
Barcode and Open Food Facts
Camera access is used only to read food barcodes.
Lookup runs through the FitLog Pro backend: the app does not call TiNutro or Open Food Facts directly.
When a product comes from Open Food Facts, TiNutro keeps source and attribution metadata.
When a barcode is missing, the created product is immediately available to you. Sharing it in the catalog requires the explicit editor switch and review.
If TiNutro detects a duplicate, FitLog asks for a clearer variant name instead of polluting the public database.
If the product is not found, use `Open advanced editor` to complete the log or verify the data manually.
Edit, move, or delete
In the `Today` detail view, FitLog Pro shows the available image next to saved foods.
Long-press a food and drag it onto another meal to move it without entering it again.
The drag hint can be dismissed with the `X` and disappears automatically after the first successful move.
Tap an already saved food to open manual editing.
You can change grams, save the new quantity, or delete only that food.
For full editing, plans, recipes, or advanced controls, use `Open advanced editor`.
MVP limits
The diary can display and correct past days, but it never lets you navigate beyond today.
FitLog Pro GPT remains an external link: in-app text estimates are not part of this MVP.
Nutrition data should always be confirmed by the user before saving.
What to expect
You reach a verifiable result at the end of the flow.
Saved data remains consistent with the guide objective.
You can continue to related guides without extra setup.
Common mistakes
Skipping final review before confirmation.
Using the wrong flow for the intended objective.
Confirming ambiguous output without correction.
Still need help?
If the answer is not here, contact support with device, platform, a clear problem description, and ideally a screenshot.
On Android, FitLog Pro updates a pinnable Home Screen widget with the same quick actions.
Meal actions open quick entry with the meal type already selected. `Snack` automatically maps to AM snack or PM snack based on the time of day.
On iOS and Apple Watch, `Water` in the Live Activity logs one glass through a native intent without opening the app; on the Watch card, the badge only shows how many glasses you have already logged.
iOS Live Activities are not permanent: the system can close them after a few hours. If that happens, FitLog Pro tries to republish the panel while the toggle is on and iOS settings allow it.
The local snapshot is a startup cache: it does not replace cloud sync or make stale data authoritative.
A thumbnail appears only when the photo exists and loads successfully. If it is missing or unavailable, FitLog Pro shows no empty image box and gives the full row width to the food name and nutrition values.
After a food enters the pending list, its row shows `Added` with a checkmark. You can still reopen it when you intentionally want another serving.
The minimal icon inside the field becomes a spinner only during remote enrichment. Local results remain visible while online matches arrive; every product found or scanned is kept on the device so you can find it again later by name or brand.
Below the field, two equal-size buttons stay visible: `Scan` opens the camera immediately and `Create` shows only the creation options currently available. The header `X` explicitly closes the panel.
`Personal recipes` stays a secondary shortcut below the primary actions and opens your library without competing with search.
After selecting a food, `Micronutrients` appears below calories and P/C/F when the source provides additional values. Tap it to expand fiber, sugars, minerals, and vitamins calculated for the current grams; editing grams refreshes them immediately.
The panel shows only nutrients actually available for that food. When the source does not provide them, FitLog Pro hides the control instead of presenting zeroes as confirmed data.
Use `Create` > `Create new food` to enter name, reference grams, calories, macros, and advanced nutrition details. Values are validated before saving and normalized to 100 g. Going back preserves the previous search.
Saving creates a personal Hive copy and does not publish anything automatically. To help other users, turn on `Share with the community`: it becomes public only after review.
When the app is in Italian, search sends language and country to TiNutro, prioritizing Italy/Italian before the world fallback.
The country selector no longer stays beside the search bar: FitLog Pro shows a first-run hint, then moves that choice to `Settings` > `Nutrition` > `Food localization`.
Search now understands accents, singular/plural forms, small typos, and food aliases: queries like `mela`, `riso cotto`, `pasta`, `albume`, `olio evo`, fruit, and vegetables prioritize generic foods before less relevant products or dishes.
When the local cache has useful matches, quick suggestions appear under the field: tapping one fills the query and refreshes local results, the regional index, and backend search with the same flexible matching logic.
The `Scan` button below search opens a full-screen scanner with close and flashlight controls at the top, plus manual code entry at the bottom. After a scan, FitLog returns to the product; if it does not exist, you can create it and optionally add a photo.
When you create a missing product, nutrition values are entered in a label-style list: arrows above the numeric keyboard move between grams, kcal, and macros, and tapping a filled field selects its whole value.
If a barcode or catalog product has wrong nutrition values, use `Correct values`: the correction immediately becomes your personal copy and never rewrites meals already logged. A global suggestion is optional and requires `Suggest this correction to the community`.
`Recent` stays under search and shows foods recently saved from the Nutrition/FitLog Pro diary, even when they did not come from Open Food Facts or your personal catalog.
Open Food Facts products show the available product image when TiNutro receives it from the source. OFF provenance is not the same as nutrition verification: check the label, serving, and values before saving.
If you start from `Add` inside a meal, the `Save to` selector inherits breakfast, snack, lunch, or dinner and can still be changed with visual buttons before saving.
Before saving, choose the meal and confirm grams: the visual preview shows current diary calories and macros, the pending food increase, and the total you will get after saving. While searching for more foods, it stays compact and only shows the pending kcal.
The reminder button under `Supplements` opens a new daily reminder already targeted to supplements: enter the name, optional dose, and time, then save.
The `Done` button in the diary writes to the same personal reminder history, so it stays consistent with the notification center.
